Climate Lovers Day: ICCW Road Map for Sustainability and Survival on the Globe
Prof. Dr. Zafer Aslan is Advisor to Rector and Teaching Member in the Department of Computer Engineering at Istanbul
Aydın University. She earned her degrees in Atmospheric Sciences
from Istanbul Technical University and became a full professor at
Kafkas University. She conducted research at the University of
Washington and the International Centre for Theoretical Physics.
She has held key academic leadership roles, is a member of the
Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World, and
a board member of OSTIV FAI. Her research focuses on
atmospheric convection, thermal soaring, renewable energy, and
atmospheric data analysis. She has published over 50 refereed
articles and contributed to several books and journals.
Climate Change, Water Management and Agriculture in Pakistan: Challenges and Opportunities for Adaptation
Prof. Dr. Niaz is an Ex. Vice Chancellor, Arid
Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Presently, he is
working as “Professor Emeritus” in the University of Agriculture
Faisalabad. He carries a distinguished career in the field of
Agricultural and Bio-system Engineering. He completed his higher
studies from the Iowa State University USA whereas post-
doctorate studies from Kyoto and Tottori Universities, Japan. He
author of 90 plus research publications, and five books. He has
received an Award from the International Commission on
Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) as well as the Pakistan President
Award of Technology. He completed a good number of Research
Projects along with international researchers funded by the
international organizations.
The Climate–Water Nexus: Advancing Sustainable and Resilient Water Management for the Future
Dr. Mohsin Hafeez leads the Strategic Program on Water, Food, and Ecosystems (WFE) at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and the global Water Nexus Policy Area of Work under CGIAR’s Policy Science Program. An internationally recognized expert in water and agricultural systems with nearly three decades of experience, he has led interdisciplinary research on climate adaptation, irrigation modernization, sustainable land and water management, and water governance across 18 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. He previously served as IWMI’s Country Representative in Pakistan and Regional Representative for Central Asia, and has held senior roles in leading institutions in the UK and Australia. Dr. Hafeez has authored over 200 scientific publications and supervised numerous postgraduate researchers.
